Business Development Executive (Malaysia)

The purpose of the NEM Foundation is to introduce, educate and promote the use of the NEM blockchain technology platform on an international scale to global industries and institutions.

The Business Development Executive is part of NEM business development team and reports to the Chief Revenue Officer, this role is an initial 12 month contract but may be extended.

The Business Development Executive is responsible for supporting all of Malaysian business development efforts and social engagements.


Role responsibilities:

  • Supports Business Development for NEM Foundation in Malaysia and South East Asia
  • Focuses on partnerships and stakeholder management of Blockchain Solutions on the NEM Platform
  • Secures local delivery partners, system integrators, education partners and ecosystem Partners
  • Communicates with NEM global teams and co-ordinates business development activities across regions and countries
  • Participates in global teams that may be formed for specific projects or tasks
  • Prepares business development and materials
  • Trains and supervises support and technical staff to deliver solutions to companies or organizations developing on the NEM blockchain technology
  • Supports and coordinate any events and sponsorships in line with the marketing strategy
  • Regular reporting of business development accomplishments, partnerships, return on investment and expenses
  • Meets revenue KPI’s set by the Chief Revenue Officer and participates as part of the business development global team
  • Executes the marketing plan for NEM Malaysia with digital and social focus in line with direction from Chief Marketing Officer
  • Monitors relevant virtual online blogs or chat groups, and any internet communication channels for any issues related to blockchain and/or NEM blockchain
  • Keeps in touch with the NEM Community and promotes NEM activities both in and outside of the community across all internal and external channels


  • Proven track record of securing and managing partnerships
  • Strong stakeholder and client management capabilities
  • Ability to operate in a highly technical environment and work collaboratively with technical, marketing, product and business development teams globally
  • Strong networking skills and connections within local ecosystem
  • Familiar with the blockchain space
  • Ability to convert business development into sales and revenue
  • Strong relationship management and account management skills
  • Brings a strong network of contacts in the Blockchain, start up, government and enterprise industries
