NEM Group and Digital Markets (DIGTL) recently announced our partnership. The integration will enable Digital Markets’ digital securities platform to back their digital asset managing services with the robust Symbol blockchain infrastructure.
Symbol from NEM officially went live on 17 March 2021 – a date which marks the beginning of the next chapter in NEM’s exciting story. The launch of Symbol is the culmination of a lot of hard work by many of the NEM community over the last 4 years.
Symbol Snapshot happened at approx 04:26 UTC on 12 March at a block height of 3,105,500.
Decentralization goes right to the very core of NEM and how the ecosystem operates. It helps reduce and eventually removes the need for trust; in a decentralised ecosystem everyone can verify for themselves, if they wish to.
We are excited to confirm that key dates in the conception and launch of Symbol have now been confirmed. Snapshot and pre-launch Opt-in has been confirmed for 12 March, with Snapshot taking place at approx 00.50 at a block height of 3,105,500.
On January 26th 2021, NEM announced a partnership with Nikkei Sangyo Kokokusha, part of the Nikkei Group. The partnership brings a new relationship and opportunities, as NEM in Japan will work with Nikkei Sangyo Kokokusha to build the NEM brand and support the launch of Symbol.
While our partnership strategy is quite rightly focused on bringing in platforms and partners that strengthen the ecosystem and provide access to more people who are interested in NEM and Symbol, we are always looking for other ways to grow NEM.
